In studio for this episode are Michael McIntosh, Dr. Alex Kondos, and Dustin Schutt. As a law enforcement officer, making the right decisions in stressful situations is crucial. With increased scrutiny on the use of force or lethal force, a bad decision can end your career and even lead to criminal charges. That's why scenario-based training is so important.

Scenario-based training involves putting officers in hypothetical situations that they might encounter on the job. By challenging them to apply their knowledge and solve problems in a simulated environment, officers can gain valuable experience and develop automatic responses that help them handle stress more effectively.

Unfortunately, many police agencies don't provide enough scenario-based training. Some only offer an annual officer survival day, which is not enough to inoculate officers to stress. To be effective, scenario-based training needs to be frequent and realistic to the situations that officers are likely to encounter.
In this episode, we'll explore the key components of effective scenario-based training. By maximizing the benefits of this training method, officers can be better prepared to handle the challenges they face on the job and keep their communities safe. So join us and discover how scenario-based training can help officers make sound decisions under stress and encounter fewer surprises in real-world situations.View our show notes at www.leleaders.com/elevate/scenario-based-training or watch the episode on YouTube!
